1. Two Drop in Centres for PLHIV - Imphal East and Thoubal District (DIC)
There are two Projects funded by National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) through Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MSACS). The main target group of this project is People Living with HIV and AIDS and their spouses. The services available in this project are care and support, health investigation, OI medicines support, condom, Needle and syringe and formation of self support groups. Self help support group enable to provide a room for the PLHAs to share their knowledge and information one another, recreation facility providing a safe place for them, supply of IEC materials, community meetings to learn more about HIV/AIDS, Get together programme for PLHA, community awareness programme to sensitize community people about HIV/AIDS etc.
2. Lifeaid CRS/MNP+
The project, Positive Living Centre is funded by Catholic Relief Service (CRS) and implementing by MNP+. The project area covers Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal District. This project focuses on care and support services to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) and affected by the epidemic.
Available facilities of these centres are health investigation, O.I. medicine, nutritional education support to the CLHA and formation of SHG and participation of various trainings, capacity building programme, children’s annual talent hunt events were also organized by this project. In wider aspect this project also conduct community based programmes like awareness and advocacy programme with key stake holders to develop and bring a collective movement with the whole section of the society to cope up with the further transmission of HIV among the general community.
3. Oral Drug Substitution Project (DSTP)
Manipur Network of Positive People is implementing a project focus on Injecting Drug Users (IDU) to bring back the youths to the mainstream with support from Emanuel Hospital Association (EHA) and DFID. The project is rendering services to the 200 IDUs by providing Buprenorphine substitution treatment, counseling service for both the clients and family members, referral service, free health check up and investigation facility to maintain a quality and healthy life of IDUs. As a response of the project 25 clients have come back to the mainstream and started their respective regular works.
4. CHAHA Project
The CHAHA Project is implemented by MNP+ in partnership with SASO funded by International AIDS Alliance. This project is mainly working for the welfare of the children affected and infected by HIV/AIDS providing services like nutritional support, free education facility, health investigation facility and referral services to other service delivery points according to the needs of the children.
